Welcome to Uganda Vegan Society

Founded in 2019 and legally registered in June 2021 as vegan Network Uganda; the Uganda Vegan Society is a movement of Vegans all over Uganda. This community’s main goal is to introduce veganism in Uganda as a better way of living.

The Vegan Society is a volunteer non governmental organization , that advocates for reduced animal consumption, healthy eating habits, compassion towards animals and Environmental protection. This Society was founded in June 2019 from Uganda Vegan festival. This community is in charge of organizing Annual Vegan festivals, Vegan potlucks, Vegan restaurant week and Vegan advocacy in Uganda while advocating for animal rights.

Our Commitment

We are committed to reducing animal and animal products consumption to 50% in Uganda by the year 2050. To achieve this, we shall ensure Vegan meat options are readily available, accessible, enjoyable and affordable to all Ugandans and Africans at large.

About Veganism

Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose and promoting a more healthier life style.A vegan diet can help to prolong life, reduce the risk of various diseases, and support exercise levels.

Mission

To promote, encourage and motivate people to become vegan with an aim of promoting compassion towards animals.

Vision

We envision being an organization focused on introducing a vegan lifestyle as a strategy towards ending animal abuse and control of non-communicable diseases.

  • To lower ones chances of getting certain types of cancer, such as colon cancer
  • To Manage diabetes by lowering A1C levels
